A brief history of the Chicago & North Western Iowa Division mainline, now part of the Overland Route:

06/16/22

This standard through girder span crosses over an overflow of Prairie Creek near Blairstown.
Built in 1931, this bridge replaced an older through girder span that was similar in design.
The structure is heavily built, sitting on concrete substructures. It sits just south of 77th Street.
Overall, the bridge remains in good condition, and should be able to support traffic for a considerable time longer.

The author has ranked the bridge locally significant, due to the common design and newer age.
